STATEMENT OF WORK. NARRIATIVE FOR VA PURCHASE OF PERMANENT FIRE PUMP Furnish new Permanent Fire Pump The design, materials, equipment, installation, inspection, and testing of the fire pump assembly complete shall be in accordance with the required provisions of NFPA 20, NFPA 37, and NFPA 70. Seismic Protection: Seismically brace all fire pump piping systems in accordance with NFPA 13 and NFPA 20. The manufacturer of the fire pump prefabricated house and diesel driven fire pump shall include: The building shall be self-framing design using the roof and walls as the primary structural support system. A two-hour rated construction shall be provided for the enclosure meeting NFPA 1, UL Listed / FM Approved Centrifugal Fire Pump. Diesel engine. 24-hour capacity fuel oil storge tank. Fire-pump accessories and specialties. A Vertical, Multistage Pressure-maintenance pump. Hose header supply per NFPA 20. Fire Department connection with ball-drip check valve. A UL Listed Fire Alarm Terminal Cabinet, listed electric gong, bell speaker-strobe. Controllers, accessories, and specialties to include: Controller for diesel-drive fire pump Controllers for pressure-maintenance pumps NEMA 4 Enclosures 208V/1 phase and 208V/3phase electrical panels. Contractor supplied equipment shall be designed to be maintained in place, if possible, with minimum disassembly of surrounding equipment and minimum usage of temporary scaffolding and handling equipment. Contractor must refer and comply to Contract Documents, Division 01, 21, 26 and 28 specifications requirements in whole, no exceptions will be accepted. Contractor must advise in writing to the VA COR and the Engineer of Record of the Testing of the Fire Pump Assembly complete in the Manufacturer s Assembly Plant with a minimum of ten (10) days advanced notice so that the VA and the Engineer of Record can be at the plant during testing of the fire pump assembly complete.
