The Greenwood Commissioners of Public Works is requesting bids for a water line replacement and upgrade project. The project involves replacement of portions of Greenwood CPW’s distribution system water mains in the City of Greenwood, SC. Includes installation of approximately 6,440 linear feet (lf) of 8-inch ductile iron pipe (DIP) water main along Maxwell Avenue, and approximately 900 lf of 6-inch DIP along South Mathis Street. Includes all associated water services, fire hydrants, gate valves, other appurtenances, connections to and terminations from existing active water mains, asphalt milling, cutting, and paving, concrete cutting and replacement and other items as outlined in the Contract Documents. This project is partially funded by the South Carolina Rural Infrastructure Authority, Grant Number R-22-1330.

Bids are due no later than 9:45 AM, local time, May 25, 2023. Questions may be directed to Jonathan Atkins at bids@greenwoodcpw.com . The deadline for submitting questions regarding this Request for Bids is Monday, May 15, 2023 at 5:00 PM, local time.

A voluntary pre-bid conference for the project will be held on Thursday, May 11 at 2:00 PM at the Greenwood CPW Central Operations Center at 810 By-pass 225 South, Greenwood, SC 29646. Note that most GPS systems do not recognize the address for the CPW Central Operations Center. For reference, this facility is located at the intersection of Bypass 225 and West Alexander Road (Greenwood County Parcel ID 6844-456-707).

Prospective bidders shall register as a document holder by emailing bids@greenwoodcpw.com or online by completing Bid Registration Form and referencing Project W-2-2023. A link to download a full set of contract documents will then be emailed to each registered document holder.
