Pre-bid Meeting: A MANDATORY pre-bid conference for the Project will be held on Monday, July 24, 2023, at 11:00 am EST, at 2 George Street, Room 1403, Charleston, SC 29401. Bids will not be accepted from Bidders that do not attend the mandatory pre-bid conference.


The City of Charleston (Owner) is requesting Bids for the construction of the following Project: Spring/Fishburne US 17 Drainage Improvements Project - Phase 5: Pump Station Building & Mechanical Systems. Bids will not be accepted from Bidders who have not been Prequalified by the Owner. The following Contractors have previously submitted a qualification package to demonstrate Contractor’s qualifications to perform the Work for this Project and have been determined by the Owner as being Prequalified to Bid the Project: Conti Civil, LLC, Crowder Construction Company, and Ruby-Collins, Inc. The Project includes the following Work: Construction of the pump station building and architectural elements atop the previously constructed pump station wet well To Include: Structural Steel Erection, Micropile Installation, Pile Cap and Grade Beam Installation, Precast/Prestressed Concrete Wall Panel Installation, Brick and Masonry Work, Ornamental Iron Work, and Bridge Crane Installation and startup; Installation and startup of supporting mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, electrical, control, and fuel storage and distribution systems; Installation and startup of owner furnished equipment: Diesel engine driven stormwater pumping packages to include large axial flow pumps and diesel engine driven power modules and supporting equipment, and Emergency Generator and supporting equipment; Sitework (grading, paving, pavers, etc.); Utilities (domestic water and sanitary sewer); Stormwater Piping and Structure Installation; Existing Stormwater Pipeline Cleaning and Inspection; Fire Protection System; and Landscaping (to include irrigation). For all further requirements regarding qualifications, procedures, and notice of prequalification determination, refer to the Request for Qualifications (RFQ) Documents. Bids for the construction of the Project will be received by the Department of Stormwater Management located at 2 George Street, Suite 2100, Charleston, SC 29401, until Thursday, August 31, 2023, at 1400 local time. At that time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read.
