Darlington County owns approximately 103.7 acres of land located on the exterior of Darlington County landfill on Great Cypress Road in Darlington, South Carolina. The County wishes to enter into a lease with farmer or grower. The tenant may raise crops such as vegetables, grain, corn, soybean, wheat, barley, rye, oats, or hay to list a few items. The tenant may single crop or double crop the premise. All crops must be planted and harvested within the Lease Term. The Lessee agrees to use to use the land for the production of crops and to maintain said land in good condition. In the event that crops are not planted during any given growing season, the lessee will keep vegetation cut below an eighteen-inch ( 18") level.
